Cantor Stewart Figa, GRAMMY nominated vocalist and a veteran of four seasons of Yiddish Theatre in New York City, will present a program at the Skokie Public Library of songs and stories relating to his being raised in Skokie, Illinois as a child of Holocaust survivors and how growing up in this new “Shtetele” of Skokie, which had one of the largest concentrations of survivors around the world, influenced his life and his love of Yiddish.


Cantor Stewart Figa has served at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest Illinois since 1998 and has been a Cantor in the Chicago area since 1990. He is a founding member of the New Budapest Orpheum Society,…
